Accronym: Appalachian Coal Country Watershed Team

ACCWT is a dynamic group of Ameircorps VISTA workers located throughout Appalachia. From Pennsylvania to Alabama, the ACCWT offers opportunities to get involved in environmental issues including acid mine drainage, wastewater issues, and redevelopment of mine-scarred land brownfield sites.

The Appalachian Coal Country Watershed Team (ACCWT) is a unique partnership between the federal Office of Surface Mining and the AmeriCorps VISTA* program. We place dynamic VISTA volunteers with local watershed organizations in various communities spread throughout Appalachian Coal Country (AL, TN, KY, VA, WV, PA, OH, and MD).
