This term is derived from Akihabara, the area of Tokyo known as "electric town." Akihabara is an area with a huge amount of electronic devices, cells, computers, games, video games etc. This term is used synonymously with otaku. A geek or nerd. Usually someone with no social life or love life. One who is majorly into anime, manga, and electronics.
