This is a person who is an alcoholic butt doesn't realise or has not yet been diagnosed as being an alcoholic.A person that does know he has a drinking problem will be commonly known as an alcolist.
My friend has a real drinking problem, he doesn't realise it yet, i think he is a alcolist.
