Adjective. Happily intoxicated. The Irish and British use this term to describe a state of alcohol-induced well being. Scholars believe this word originated in pubs as patrons began combining the terms "ale" and "inebriated."

After drinking heavily on the golf course, David said to his playing companion: "Chris, I'm alebriated."
