The original home of Almaden wines. Site of the infamous Almaden Country Club massacre. 18 people were slaughtered one night in the bar in a robbery that netted less than 500 dollars. The culprits, thought to be residents of Morgan Hill, remain at large.

Down in the Almaden Valley, the valley so low, I lost my poor sweetheart with 1 thunderous blow.
