What is Amerocentric?

A concept where media, policy, thought, etc...focuses solely on America and all things American while failing to account for or purposely excluding the rest of the world, usually in an arrogant, ignorant, rude or forceful way.

1. As an English teacher teaching overseas, I didn't recommend the book because it was too Amerocentric. It totally focused on American geography, way-of-life, history, politics...instead of actual English as a language.

2. It's Amerocentric to think that only America's economy would suffer badly by signing any bill related to Cllimate Change.

3. The Bush administration's Amerocentric views have contributed to the world's negative perception of America through it's reckless bullying, arrogance and lack of respect.
