Amputechture

What is Amputechture?

1.

A cross-breeding of the words "Amputate" and "Architecture" to define the dismantling of great monuments, places, or phantom limbs. Featured on the third album by The Mars Volta "Amputechture". It is also thought to have a nomial form as is stipulated by the rather obtuse lyric: "Amputechture came. Philistine praise. Bottomless pit of empty names..."

In the year 2030, I suspect we will see great museums of amputechture. Par exemple: Pieces of the Berlin Wall or the fallen statue of fascist Saddam Hussein. Or even the arms of the Venus de Milo.
