n. a tree that has had some of its branches/limbs cut off, leaving nubby circles on the trunk where the branches were.
trees that are overgrown in front yards, or are growing dangerously close to buildings or power lines, are most likely to become amputrees.
the elements (high winds,lightning etc.) are also a common cause of amputrees.
