What is Anachronymism?

An abbreviation or acronym that has become obsolete. Derived from the word acronym and anachronism.

cc at the end of a letter -- meaning carbon copy (sheets of ink-coated paper were placed between blank sheets in a typewriter, producing multiple copies). Actual carbon copies are virtually unknown but the "cc" persists as shorthand for multiple copies.
