Annette is the title of a literary masterpiece by author extraordinaire Martin Eden. Annette who is the main character of this book is an inbred orca fat white woman with large extremities who is married to her step brother. Being from a small backward town in West Virginia with a generally poor and uneducated population and having witnessed the so called war on terror unfold in the recent years, she has developed a sense of extreme prejudice and suspicion towards anyone who is different, particularly those from different ethnic and religious backgrounds. Large and poorly educated, Annette a generally good hearted and generous woman is taken to financial ruin by those inside her own family who take advantage of her in a complicated real estate skim, which involves the local banks, the politicians, and the regulators. After further unforeseen life events have forced her to confront the inherent contradictions in her false belief systems, one day she comes in contact and falls in love with a crippled army general from the African country of Toga named Ta. Despite experiencing nirvana from falling in love for the first time, her biracial extramarital affair creates conflict between her and the townspeople as well as members of her own extended family, most of whom are uneducated red necks involved in complex incestual relationships. The story ends when Annette, Ta, and Annette’s childhood friend and confidant who is gay come face to face with the town’s racist and often violent past, and they decide to leave the states and move to Toga.
