Anoxia is a Gothic Metal band which originally formed in 2006, though the current line up was not formed until 2007. Chrystal and Troy are the only two remaining founding members of the band. Other members were added, lost, and changed multiple times.
Chrystal had been playing and writing her own songs for a long time, but had never been in a band. Troy had been playing guitar in his second Metal band when he first heard Chrystal's music, and was enchanted. They began by combining Chrystal's haunting piano-based songs with Troy's Metal guitar riffs, which created something unique. They found that her vocals could effectively be mixed with guitar riffs reminiscent of styles ranging from classic rock to the various Metal styles which are some of Troy's most prominent influences, including black metal, doom metal, power metal, ect.
