A huge screw up performed by a person (esp. when "blocked" to do so). Usually hurts someones reputation. In lieu of the Sept. 1 2007, Michigan vs. Appalachian State upset.
1)George Bush's presidency is an app state
2)Person 1: "Blair pulled an app state last night."
Person 2: "How's so?"
Person 1: "This girl kept hitting him and he told her if she did it one more time he'd hit her. So she did, and uh... he did. Made her bleed."
