What is Apply Through Your Teeth?

1.

To euphamise one's skills and/or work ethic on a workapplication with the intent of having your application receive a more favorable consideration. It is an unwritten rule of applying for jobs, i.e., it is expected that you apply through your teeth. Remember, it's not lying - it's applying.

Question: How often have you skipped school: never, on occasion, only as much as everyone else does, or always?

Applicant: Hmm, let's see. Well, I do skip on occasion, so...

Friend: Dude, apply through your teeth. Tell them you never skip. That's what they're expecting you to say.

Applicant: Alright, next question.

Question: I disagree with others frequently. Strongly agree, agree, neutral, disagree, or strongly disagree?

Applicant: Wtf! It's a trick question >_<
