Aretha Louise Franklin, singer/ songwriter/ pianistwas born in Memphis Tennesse unto the Reverend Clarence LaVaughn Franklin and Barbara Siggers Franklin on March 25, 1942.

Aretha Franklin was the first women elected into the Rock and Roll Hall in Cleveland, Ohio in 1987.

Aretha Franklin, also, has the second most Grammy Awards' than any other female singer behind music "newcomer" Allison Krauss born on July 23, 1971 in Decatur, Illinois.

Aretha Franklin has held the honor of the most Grammy Awards won by a female artist since the first Grammy Award Ceremony was held in 1959.

Ms. Franklin was surpassed this year (2006) by two Grammy Awards won by Allison Krauss, an American Bluegrass fiddle player, musician, and singer.

The title The Queen of Soulwas given to Aretha Franklin in 1962 as she has had twenty #1 R and B/Rhythm and Blues hits on the international and national music charts and a massive amount of other chart ranking hits from the beginning of her Columbia Records, Atlantic Records, and Arista Records career to present date.

Her first recorded charted song was entitled, Rock-A-Bye Your Baby With a Dixie Melody, a remakeon November 20, 1961 on Columbia Records.

Rock-A-Bye Your Baby With a Dixie Melody was, also, a #1 hit for Al Jolson in 1918.

Her very first international number one R and B hit was "I Never Loved A Man (The Way I Love You)" with Atlantic Records on March 18, 1967 -- a week before her 25th birthday.

Aretha Franklin's signature song, "RESPECT," went #1 on the POPcharts for two weeks and eight weeks on the R and B music charts on May 6, 1967.

RESPECT was written by R and B/ Soullegend Otis Redding.

Aretha Franklin is The Queen of Soul, a title that only describes a fragment of the musical genres her career has spanned.

Ms. Franklin's career is still currently in evolution and continual progress delighting fans around the world.
