advice which sucks or which causes you to suspect the giver is an idiot
telling somebody to fix the electrical socket by sticking a fork in it is badvice
not to be confused with madvice, which causes you to suspect the giver is clinically insane or sadvice, which causes you to suspect the giver is clinically depressed
