Pronounced Bay Con
First created by Paul Bailey when he decided to research his family tree in 1994. He went on to create the largest independently owned Genealogy site for the state of Kentucky from 1997 thru 2002 with Surnames of Kentucky. All his research was offered for free and got back as far as 1315 in his 5 year research
Mr. Bailey used his fathers last name and his mothers maiden name to form the word and term of BaiCon.
The term BaiCon is now used in southern Ohio and Eastern Kentucky to describe someone who is researching their family tree.
I have decided to BaiCon my roots.
