What is B-a-n-a-n-a-s?

A snippet of a cheerleading chant first heard by most in the song, "Hollaback Girl" by Gwen Stefani. It is actually part of an entire cheer that I first heard in the mid 80's. Usually heard from a cheerleading troupe during a game at a school whose school colors contain the color gold or yellow. (Players wear gold or yellow pants or jerseys.) This was considered quite a racy cheer at my high school in 1986... I only heard it used once. Here is the entire cheer ---

(by the way, Gwen is a former cheerleader herself, and I'm sure it would be a safe bet that the school she cheered at has yellow as one of its school colors.... )

One of the words gwen stefani used in her song tryin to figure out what a `hollabackgirl is. Just to catch attention and piss us all off she annyoingly spells bananas. the song is pointless and has no real meaning to it. thank you gwen stefani fro bringing this song into the world. it might be annoying as hell but it sure is catchy.
