people in barbados also have a very unique way of speaking known as Bajan dialect...

people seem to believe that "barbados is full of nice people" and "its a paradise".....well not really...i live here and im from america so let me tell you how it really is.....atleast 80% of the country dislikes americans...anyway thats out of the way now so let me tell you how barbados really is...you have to be rich to live here (ok not really). for example a PS3 in the US costs like $400 but here its $1800 which is $900 in US money and a wii is like $250 US last time i checked and here its like $1000 which is $500 US. the people are quite stupid when it comes to logic...for example, if loud music is playing in a car this is something that would be said(and was said before)"who is that rapping/singing???!!! i never heard about him/her so turn it off it is crap!!!!!"...stupid right?i know.
another thing is ALL of the schools except the university and community college have uniforms which MUST be worn which sucks.
another thing about prices here, in the US i guess a burger would cost...i dont know maybe less that $4 but here its atleast $7 and up (maybe in a few places it costs less im not sure)
the people talk weird, for example:
normal english: "i go there every saturday"
barbadian english: "i duz guh (go) cross (across) dey (there)(pronounced "day" but with a weird accent/dialect 2 go with it so it sounds even worse) every satda (saturday) (pronounced sat-duh)....THEN THEY SAY AMERICANS TALK STUPID AND "dont know wat "gimme" and "b" mean so you would have to say "give me" for them to understand" (yes someone actually said that...
they say americans dress stupid and wear " short lil nippy dresses" which is just an unnecessary exaggeration for how short miniskirts are and THEN GO TO AMERICA FOR EVERYTHING (clothes electronics you name it) and wear clothes just like americans....makes no sense.
music:the main local music is called calypso...it sucks...they would put subliminal messages in their songs for example this is part of a new song for the 2009 crop over competition (these arent the exact lyrics but i know this is what he is saying) "she want de (the) banana she love de banana"....thats just a "funny, clever" way of saying dick in a song and getting away with it and people defend the lyrics saying "he doesnt mean dick he means banana" and then giggle whenever they hear the song (and in that song at the end of every line or almost every line the word banana which again is a "clever" way of saying dick and getting away with it is used and the songs are BIG hits with kids especially) THEN THEY SAY RAP MUSIC IS BAD BECAUSE ITS SEXUAL AND HAS IN SWEAR WORDS
but barbados isnt all that bad there are a few good things...there is only sunshine and rain here no high snow to walk through and its further east of the rest of the caribbean countries so it doesnt relly get hit by hurricanes and if they do hit they dont hit hard enough to cause serious damage but it can happen once in a while.
but its frustrating that things are expensive here so its only a paradise if u have lots of money but that doesnt mean that there are lots of poor people here tho people live normal lives but things are just too expensive.i would get into the "bloods" and "crips" here but i dont wanna make this too long lemme just say they are fake and pose in more internet pics than they actually gang bang.dont waste ur time coming here its almost a total waste of time and money
