Battle-paddle

What is Battle-paddle?

1.

To row with unnecessarily high pressure during the rest interval between rowing pieces, esp. to make small gains on an opponent.

When we built into the first three-minute piece, the other boat battle-paddled and gained a seat on us before the piece even started. Cheaters.
