What is Beeping?

a cellphone trick originating mostly in Africa where a cheap. cash strap person calls someone and then hangs up after a ring or so, later the intended reciever will get a missed call from that person. also known as "pitiful call" in Africa, eventually the receiver will call the cash-strap person back, thus they are the ones who will pay for the phone call.
Jim- "man those africans always be doing the beeping on their cell phones!"
Paul- "Yeah, why don't they call collect or something?"
Jim " I don't think they have that, and their in Africa, so most of them they cash-strap and poor!"
Paul- " oh ok, Man maybe i'll do that from now on, save me money on my cellphone bill!"
Jim" Your pitiful and an American cheapskate!"
