Derived from the Marian Hossa crisis of the 2008-2009 NHL offseason, in which Marian Hossa forced the Pittsburgh Penguins Hockey Club to wait for an answer as to who he would sign with during the free agency period. Much to the contrary of popular speculation, Hossa signed with the Detroit Red Wings.
