A marginal sexual dance that lacks artistic expression is usually performed by lard-ass scantly-dressed female. Usually involves shaking large bags of fat in the buttocks and chest around the drunk and horny audience at a nightclub. Bellydancers claim not to be "sluts" (the very need to make such claims speaks for itself). Most of them are unable to dance, and now every club girl seems to be a bellydancer (this is supposed to make them appear more sexual and available to males).
Belly dancers are often hired for bachelor parties and to perform striptease. Originally, belly dancing was a form of fertility dance. Many straight males like bellydancers because they are supposed to have well-trained pelvic muscles. Bellydancers usually wear skimpy outfits designed to show as much fat tissue as possible.
Sadly, bellydancers tried to infiltrate goth and industrial scene, claiming to be "gothic bellydancers" (most of them are tribal/fusion bellydancers): they are causing a disgrace to gothic and industrial dancers who are mistaken for prostitutes if they mention that they are a "gothic dancer".
