Benobo chimpanzee - a species of chimp in Africa which has developed a societal adaptation of resolving individual conflict with promiscuous sex. Rather than fight, they mount. Gender is not important; its a way of venting social stress. A way of establishing social heirarchy, towit: a pricking order. ;-)See wikipedia, Pecking Order.
Instead of fighting over who next gets to groom the alpha male, one benobo female will mount another. Once the conflict is resolved, order is reestablished.
