What is Binghamton University?
1.
Binghamton University is one of the best public universities in the nation. With an average SAT score of a 1275 / 1600 and an average un weighted GPA out of high school being a 92.3 or a 3.71, BU clearly sets the par high when it comes to undergraduate freshman admissions. Along with its academically inclined students, Binghamton also offers very competitive sports teams. BU is an NCAA Division 1 school in the America East Conference excelling in men’s and women’s soccer, who has won the conference for years in a row. BU's second best sport would be the men’s basketball team, who has high hopes for the future.
Campus life is amazing at Binghamton. There are five communities of residential halls at the university where students live on campus named; Dickinson, Newing, Mountainview, College in the Woods, and Hinman. Dickinson and Newing offer student the typical college scene style dorms, being corridor style. College in the Woods has corridor style rooms, along with small suites. Mountainview and Hinman, the remaining places to live, are strictly suite style living. Each community has its own dining hall, that all vary in the types of food available.
Binghamton University is a top university in the nation, but is one that is misrepresented. Most people that go to BU feel that it should be ranked by the US News Report, among the top 50, following the rankings of similar schools like UVA, or UNC. Binghamton also has a reputation of being a “Public Ivy”, because of it’s strive for the best, and its students who are academically and similar to those found at such schools like the University of Maryland, Boston University, University of Virginia, University of North Carolina and Villanova University. Many people also choose to go here when they do not gain acceptance to schools such as NYU, and Cornell.
Binghamton also has an unwritten war against its competitor, SUNY Geneseo. Many people believe Binghamton University is a better school than Geneseo, but there are also equal amounts of people who argue the opposing side. To help take a side, Binghamton's programs out rank Geneseo's programs, is more nationally recognized, has more well rounded students, and has a better atmosphere, and surrounding area. Binghamton is not in the middle of no where, whereas Geneseo is. Many people that choose to go to Geneseo are book worms, who tend to not be as well rounded. Binghamton students tend to be equally, or even more qualified than Geneseo students, and much more, well rounded.
Binghamton University is also an unrecognized party school. Although, not ranked anywhere near the top on the "party school" list, BU probably does is better party school than all of them; yes! that means better than PSU, and UMass. Binghamton has an ever-growing Greek community, who throw parties every weekend, even during finals. Binghamton also has a “downtown” section where all of the bars that students can go to, are located.
Therefore, if you're considering going to BU, definitely go, if you don't you should transfer, and if you can’t get in, sorry, but you’re missing out! Ohh, and going to Binghamton is also a better choice than going to most private schools, so don’t let people get you down when they say "Ohh, you go to a state school", because this state, is most likely better than their private school! :)
Binghamton University is a school that should be ranked among other leading public schools like UNC, and UVA. BU is also a public ivy.

A public university in Up-state New York that is filled to the brim with people from Long Island. The school is notorious for having "frats" that are no more than a group of ambiguously gay men living together that like to invite high school girls over to "party."
It is known to provide a good education, if one can survive the long islanders, new york citiers, and "frat" boys.
-Yo look at that kid over there buying those high school girls drinks with his mom's credit card... He must go to Binghamton University
