A mercenary force employed by the English government for the purpose of crushing the Irish freedom movement between 1920-1922. Their brutality and complete lack of regard for human life was so legendary that they are still remembered by the Irish to this day. Called the black and tans as a reference to their uniform colors.
The black and tans were a gaggle of assholes.
