(v) this word derives from topshelf, which of course is where you shit in the toilet tank above the bowl, but in this case you are a female in the women's room of a public tavern, and you shit into the blood-soaked "sanitary box" which is intended for disposal of tampons and soiled pads.
Bartender: Did you find anything nasty in there?
Janitor: Yeah, some damn whore bloodshelfed the third stall!
