Originally used as a colloquialism for anal waste, or "poo". It's meaning has now suffered from over-extension, and can be applied as a pejorative noun for anything one dislikes

It is a poo done by small children (usually in a potty). They are of unexpected dimensions (usually very large) and are renowned for floating in a bath.
"There's a good boy, have you done mummy a nice big bobar"?
"Holy shit! That bobar is a floater!"
"Look at the size of that dirty great bobar"!
