Phrase describes the motion of the "bobbers" head as they go up and down in a guy's lap while "bobbing" for "apples". Please don't try to pull an "apple" off the branch at this time. Would be somewhat distracting.
I was standing on the street when a car drives up and stops at the red light and what do I see but the driver with his head back looking all in ecstasy and a guy going down and bobbing for lap apples.
