To shun, banish, excommunicate, fire, or otherwise remove a person from a situation. From the (new) Battlestar Galactica series.

According to the Battlestar Wiki - "To box a Cylon is to download a particular humanoid Cylon's consciousness from his or her body into cold storage indefinitely...". This has the effect of eliminating all copies of that Cylon model.

Alan: "So what happened to George?"

Joe: "The guy was totally incompetent so we had to box that model."
