What is Break The Bong?

A phrase used to describe a really bad situation brought on by surprise.
Traditional use:
Cop - "Good evening boys, what are you up to?"
Jake - "Break the bong."
Modern use:
Jake - "Didn't you mack on Beth?"
Rad - "Haha yah I did man."
Jake - "Isn't that the reason her and Dan broke up?"
Rad - "Right again."
Jake - "Shit, break the bong, Dan is coming down the hall."
