It contains the magical chemical EtOH, which is said to give the drinker the ability to charm others, and resist physical pain. These powers come at the price of lowered dexterity, and heightened possibility of physical harm.
She often sipped on a flask of buttershots, while watching the others suffer the bitter tasting bottle of cuttysark, gulp by gulp.
