What is Chicken Band?

a slang term for CB radio. Called chicken band because it is a frequency range where everyone from people that are just plain stupid to truckers to wanna be hams talk to each other and argue over pointless stuff. People that use CB radios often use linear amplifiers or other illegal means to boost their output power beyond the legal 5 watt limit. Chicken band equipment often deviates from its frequency way more than it should causing interference throughout most of the high HF and low VHF spectrum.
Some guy on the chicken band just told me to fuck off for no apparent reason, so I sold my CB and got a ham radio.
