What is Ching Chong China?
1.
An emphatic on China, as in "all the way to Ching Chong China" - oppose merely going "
Originally comes from a rope-skipping song called "Ching Chong China Man", about a Chinese person who was apparently a milk farmer that didn't know how to milk a cow.
To go back futher, as near as I can tell, the "ching chong" part is a spelled representation of the mispronunciation of China's westernmost province Xinjiang (pronounced 'SHEEN-jyang', rhymes with - you guessed it - ching chong), and it also takes liberties on the way certain Chinese dialects sound to the English ear when spoken.
Keep digging, Morris, and you'll find yourself standing in the middle of Ching Chong China.
