What is Chiseler?

Historically linked to thieves, but more recently associated with just about anything. Someone who picks something apart a tiny bit at a time. One can chisel on another's stash, their money, their air, their space, their game, their well-being...whatever.

You drank my last beer Neil, you worthless chiseler.

A person who wins by deception, by sharp practice, is a cheat and generally a low-life swindler. Someone who cannot be trusted, particularly at business.

That mate of mine is a complete chiseler. As a friend I invested £10k in his insurance business only to discover it is an illegal pyramid scheme and I've lost the lot.

A person who tries to get the lowest price possible on everything and will go to extremes to save a few dollars or pennies. In other words, a cheap ass looser, a coupon-clipper, someone that would bend over in the street to pick up a penny.

A derogatory name for the irish. A higher form of paddyand mick. MUCH more offensive.

It originated, some say, in Boston and other 19th century New England areas. The Irish were said to have come to America for an easy free ride(which they did not have) and that they CHISELED the Americans out of money.
