Clatu Verata Nictu

What is Clatu Verata Nictu?

1.

A phrase populzarized in the Evil Dead series movie "Army of Darkness" (1992). Originated as the phrase that saved the world from destruction in the movie "The Day the Earth Stood Still" (1951).

"Go to Gort and say to him, 'clatu verata nictu'."

See clatu verata nictu, Evil Council

2.

Words used(sort of) by the main character(Ash) in "Army of Darkness". He was supposed to get the Necronomicon using them but mispronounced them, because in his folly he didn't listen to the priest and let all hell lose. Could now mean something similar to:

"Don't say I didn't warn you" or

"This is a Pandora's box" or even

"We are all doomed if you do that" or everyone's favorite

"It's all fun and games till someone gets eaten by a ghoul".
