Cleveland, Oh

What is Cleveland, Oh?

1.

This is the formerly-largest city in the great state of Ohio, with the metropolis' population currently being at around 470,000 people. It is here where there are three major/national sports teams: Cleveland Cavaliers (NBA), Cleveland Browns (NFL), and Cleveland Indians (MLB). Cleveland has been voted as an All-American city five times.

There is a Federal Bank Reserve building located here. In addition, C-town also has numerous corporate headquarters, including GE (General Electric). It was in Cleveland that the term rock n rollwas coined by a DJ during the early 1950s. Not surprisingly, the Rock N' Roll Hall of Fame and Musuem is also located here, built partially on the Cleveland shore, and part of it just above the coast of Lake Erie.

This major U.S. city is also home to one of the tallest and coolest buildings in the World: The Key Tower; a massive skyscraper that towers over downtown Cleveland at 947 feet and 57 stories high. There are also some REALLY OLD high-rise buildings here, including: Holiday Inn Express (built 1896, 15 stories), the Rockefeller Building (built 1905, 17 stories), and Metropolitan Bank Center (built 1915, 15 stories).

Cleveland, OH: One of the most awesome cities in America.

2.

A city in Northeast Ohio, home of the Indians, the Cavs, the Browns, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum, University Circle, and many other interesting places, teams, and people.

The city is also home to Case Western Reserve University and Cleveland State University, as well as the Cleveland Institute of Music (CIM) and the Cleveland Symphony Orchestra.

Cleveland itself is a medium city as cities go, definitely not as huge as, say, New York.

Cleveland proper is the actual city. But Cleveland is surrounded by many inner and outter-ring suburbs, which together comprise the Greater Cleveland Area.

Though poverty, race relations, and corruption are all big problems for the city, it does have a lot of average, normal people, just like anywhere else, and therein lies it's salvation.

It also has a pretty good arts scene and really weird weather.

You know you're from Cleveland, OH if:

-You know the lake isn't on fire anymore.

-You ever skipped school, work, or whatever to go celebrate St. Patrick's Day.

-You like pierogies, kielbasa, or bratwurst.

-You can spell "Cuyahoga", and do so on a regular basis.

-You're used to weird weather.

-You're an Indians fan.

-You were torn over whether to support the Steelers or Seahawks in Super Bowl XL ('06)

-You've heard of "the Drive", "The Fumble", and all those other great tragic moments in Cleveland Sports History.

-You know about the Cleveland Spiders.

-You're still mad at Baltimore.

-Art Modell is synonymous with "traitor".

-You know the words to "Cleveland Rocks." (last one optional)

The Mistake on the Lake; the only city to have a river that catches fire; a good view in your rear view mirror; however, they have had a good Symphony over the years, and Jim Brown was a famous Brown; all-in-all, not a place you'd want to go to now if you didn't have to.

Cleveland, OH sucks.

Cleveland, OH is a lousy, old, run-down little town.

The river burned and the people laughed, then they went bankrupt.
