What is Clumsum?

This is a word used in the old telephone industry, back when pole climbing was frequent. A person that had just finished pole climbing school or one with only limited pole climbing experience would often be called a "clumsum". Slang for climbed some.

How come the boss always sends me out with the clumsums, it's hard enough to get the work done with the experienced help.
