What is Comment Fishing?

The practice of leaving pointless comments for people on MySpace whom you usually wouldn't talk to, asking questions such as "What's up?" or "How have you been?" when in most cases you actually couldn't care less about what is going on in their lives, in an effort to get more comments on your own page.
myspace loser: I haven't had any comments in a while, I should go comment fishing so it doesn't seem as if no one likes me.
normal person: why don't you get off the computer and just go out and socialize?
