What is Competish?

A word in the "slanguage" used in the famous film industry magazine Variety. Other examples include "cumes" (for "cumulative totals"), "thesp" (for "thespian" or "actor"), prexy (for "president") and "perf" (for "performance").

Short for competition. Used for minute-long chats between friends, quick sizing-ups between teammates, conversations among reality tv fans etc.
Greta: I wish I wasn't a cheerleader.
Farrah: Ugh, you're just saying that because you're nervous for tomorrow's competish.
Dirk: Hey man, look at that guy doing three-pointers over there.
Nigel: Psssh, tough competish.
Barb: I totally think she should've won america's next top idolized champion contender bachelorette.
Kemp: Well, what can we do? This year's competish was cutthroat.
3.
A truncated version of the word "competition." Although the term can imply any form of fiercely brutal competitiveness among peers striving for a common goal, competish is most often used to describe the cut-throat process of attaining entrance into graduate schools of architecture.
Fuck. I'm not going to get into grad school. There's just too much competish!
