What is Cpanel?

One of the most popular control panels used by many web hosting companies in order to let their customers manage their web hosting account. Using cPanel you can manage: email accounts, ftp accounts, addon domains, parked domains, subdomains, log files, web stats, redirects, password protected directories, etc. Other well known control panels used by hosting companies are Plesk, Helm and DirectAdmin.
cPanel is actually the user control panel of the whole package. cPanel also comes with WebHostManager (WHM) which allows the root user or any reseller user to login and manage things such as: users, dns zones, server settings, etc.
You can login to cPanel using your web browser on port 2082 or 2083 (SSL). WebHostManager is running on port 2086 or 2087 (SSL). cPanel also has a webmail service which allows customers to read their email online, which runs on port 2095 or 2096 (SSL).
