There is supposed to be a wide range of places to figt other people in RvR (realm vs realm) but mythic had made it so they only go to Emain and Hibernia gets screwed over.

Like Everquest but without the requirement to go without a shower for weeks on end.

I killed five elves, three lurikeen and a poncy celt last night on DAOC! Then a troll ate my spleen.

I am not even going to tell you what DAOC stands for, hopefully you don't know and never will.

Why? Because DAOC is shit, one of the many similarities it shares with every other online RPG. (However, i bet those japan-o-freaks who bash these online RPGs will claim the Final Fantasy one to be awesome. I am not one of those japan-o-freaks, every online RPG out now, and every online RPG to come out will be amazingly shit.)

The whole point of DAOC is to wander around empty lands and to stamp on ants. Every time you stamp on an ant, you level up. When you get to level 50, you can no longer level any higher, because the ant infestation has been finally cleared.

At level 50, you can then go around trying to show off to people who don't care how good you are, by possibly managing to slay a giant rat.

Great, well done. Look at you, you're playing a meaningless game, in which the only enjoyment derived is the feeling of accomplishment having wasted 50 hours of your life to obtain "the magical hammer of daring" or whatever from a cave.

There is no excitement, tension or fun to be gleaned from this game, nae genre. Get some real friends, friends that exist.

I met this really hot girl on DAOC, but then it turns out it was a fat hairy man who liked to live out his sick fantasy, which was exactly what i was doing! Am I the only type of person to play DAOC? (Answer : yes)
