to engage in any activity or behavior comparable to that of a date. this includes touching, kissing (anywhere), holding hands, paying for the other, engaging in flirtacious conversation, and being pair off evenly (two girls, two guys or four girls, four guys, etc, etc, etc)
Friend calls you wants to go to movie with boy. Boy brings his friend, girl brings her friend. This is very daterish.
