Broad, encompassing label for stylized genres and sub-genres of electronic music (electronica) with dark, dirty, tech or tribal elements. Relates especially to house music.

A term created by trance noobs who try to catagorize house music in to adjectives and sub-genres to make sense of the sounds they are hearing.
