Deauntification

What is Deauntification?

1.

The process of dropping the "Auntie" when referring to an older generation woman after she is deemed unworthy of that title. Mostly prevalent in Indian-American communities where children are taught to call non-related elders Auntie and Uncle.

Did you hear about Kavita Auntie? She got deantified. She's just Kavita now. Ain't nothin' she can do about it neither.
