Breakbeat music has grown in the last years, but the best known DJs and acts come from Texas, Louisiana, Missouri, Kansas, and Oklahoma. Breakbeat has been growing in the United States, but there only a handful of well known DJs coming from the Western states. Artists such as DJ Shoupzer, DJ Hightekk, DJ Pickee, DJ Mad Monk, and DJ Slim are some of the most famous producer/deejays in this area that are promoting their sound to the world. However, the United States is a vast country and there are enough unknown artsists, who are trying to break into the breakbeat scene. Vincent Tam from San Bernardino, California, is one of these acts, who is quietly getting known in various parts of the United States. He started to make music at the tender age of seven, taking piano lessons from a family friend. He later learned piano on his own, allowing himself to be more creative. At the age of twelve, he started to experiment with such programs as Fruityloops and Acid Pro. His first remix release was as DJ Photik called "One Life One Love". Now, a member of Imported Breakz, the breakbeat scene will surely hear more of DJ Photik in 2006.
