You've hit rock bottom and are left with nothing, things are looking real bleak, you have no job, no girlfriend, maybe even no home, you see only one way out ...to start to think constructively and start to do something about the situation, to get your life back on track because it's the only option. It's like the flipside of suicidal, y'know for positive people
"yeah, things are pretty bad for Bob at the moment, he just lost his job and his missus broke up with him, he's been pretty down, he's starting to show do-icidal tendencies though so I reckon he'll be OK"
