Someone who engages in kindly acts of altruism (helping others), with the ulterior motive of providing a handy excuse for not doing anything with their life.
Could also be described as someone with a martyr complex or persecution complex.
Gretchen thinks that by being a doormat for her family and friends, instead of worrying about her own problems, she can delude herself into thinking she's a doltruist.
