Dorklander Edit Meaning

Perjorative term used by the rest of New Zealand to describe people from Auckland, the country's largest city. Tends to imply (a) excessive consumption (b) over-sized sunglasses (c) a tendency to speak loudly into cellphones while suppling on a takeaway coffee and (d) poor driving habits thanks to the tendency towards (c). The dorklander will tend to wear black and, in the rest of the country's estimation, do little to no work.

(Similar to a "jafa", only more recent and, in this writer's view, a little harder.)

"Since Kylee moved to the city, she's become, like, a total Dorklander."
