What is Drak Pedal?

1: to retract or modify a previous opinion, principle, etc.
2: to realize you're losing an argument and try to suggest that you weren't serious to begin with and/or that you said those things simply to get a rise out of people.
guy1: why does he bail out of every argument he starts to lose?
