It is an attempt to convey the Point of view of the other person is theirs alone. One may feel some way but it is the way they feel, not you or others. A cop out or lame arguement to a valid argument or point
Jeff: The Lakers are one of the best teams in the history of basketball
Jeremy: No the Rockets are so much better.
Jeff: Lakers, #1
Jeremy: "dude, to you" their number 1, I think its the Rockets
